Every now and then, you get to work with an organisation that shares your passion, in this case motorbikes. We chat to Karrie Meekums from the 1066 Harley Chapter Owners Group #SykesHarleyDavidson about their club merchandise, supplied and customised by Titan Workwear.
Q1. Tell us a little bit about 1066 Chapter?
1066 Chapter legend began in 2002, following the founding of our then sponsoring dealership, Shaw Harley-Davidson (now Sykes Harley-Davidson). The intent of the 1066 Chapter is to ‘Ride and Have Fun’ with like-minded individuals who have a passion for riding Harley-Davidson® motorcycles and the Harley-Davidson® brand.
Q2. How did you hear of our company?
Premier Sports supplied items of school uniform to pupils where I worked.
Q3. What products/services were you looking for?
We were looking to update our Chapter merchandise with different styles of garments (leisurewear not riding wear). During the riding season (April to October) there are various rides, trips away and rallies. On arrival it is always nice to be able to change into quality clothing with our logo on, it identifies our Chapter members.
Q4. What made our company stand out from others you researched?
I already knew you offered great service but what also helped was the fact that there is no minimum order, if I need to order only one item then that is fine.
Q5. How helpful did you find our team when making the change?
I was new to the position of merchandise officer and the Director of the Chapter asked me to ‘update’ the range of merchandise already on offer. I made an appointment to see Sales and we went from there. I met Sam from Sales and Vik from Production, they were both very helpful and Sam showed me various samples of garments I could choose from. Vik explained to me the various techniques of screen printing and embroidered logos. From having no experience in merchandise, I was soon ready to order various items.
Q6. What have you been most impressed with?
Definitely the quality of the screen printing and embroidery and quality of clothing. If I ask for embroidery on a particular garment, Vik will advise if it is doable. Sales and production are readily available to answer any queries I may have, although I think maybe their eyes roll up when they know it is me as we often have colour changes of logos!
The quality of the clothing too is excellent, Sam (Sales) is very swift in providing a quote and supplies an image of each style of garment ordered and how it will look. It is important the garments are ‘biker friendly’. Both male and female members have purchased zip-through sweatshirts which are ideal for wearing under their riding jackets. The cool-tech t-shirts are very popular too especially for touring in the summer as they can be washed and dried very quickly. Space is very limited on a bike so cool-tech garments are ideal.
Q7. What products or service have you used from our company?
We have used Vik to help with designing/redrawing logos etc. We have ordered garments; polo shirts, t-shirts male & female, Cool-Tec t-shirts & polo shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, fleece jackets & gilets, from a variety of labels Premier Sports supplies.
Q8. What plans do you have for the future?
To continue working with Premier Sports and continuing to provide great quality merchandise for 1066 Chapter. Our sales in 2023/2024 have beaten all previous years so between us we must be doing something right!
Q9. If there is one word you could use to describe the service you’ve received what would it be?
First-rate.
